Power Cords
You know, I always seem to get the computers that have issues. It can get very annoying. My very first laptop lasted me about two and a half years before it finally gave me a repetitive Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). It worked for a short period after that. I wanted to sell it and get at least a few hundred off it since all it would need is a brand new hard drive, but instead I gave it to my oldest nephew who then proceeded to completely kill it (for some reason my brother thought it appropriate to give a 7-year-old a laptop....).
So, I went out and bought myself a new laptop. My biggest purchase thus far. Bought me a nice HP Pavillion dv6 Entertainment PC. Love. That. Laptop.
However... it doesn't love me. Or rather, I should say that my laptop hates my dog. You see, my dog just LOVES to walk and run under my feet when I have my laptop on my lap. He constantly gets himself tangled in the cord, thus ripping it from my laptop. Apparently my laptop charger cord had enough of this and finally gave way. The little metal part that sticks into the laptop to charge it has become so loose no that I can no longer charge my laptop. Currently, I am waiting for HP to send me a new one so that I can once again use my own computer and not my brother's or my sister-in-law's.
At least I have almost everything from my current laptop on my very awesome, very sexy TB external hard drive (thank you so much, newegg.com for your cheap products!).
What makes this more frustrating is that I first called HP to tell them about my issue on the 6th of the month (September for those of you not following along at home...) and since my laptop is still under warranty with them, they set up to send me a new adaptor! Woo hoo! Well, I'd had to repeat my address for the person over the phone about five times, and I still wasn't convinced that he got it right. The estimated arrival date was supposed to be for Friday the 11th. That day came and went and I didn't get my cord. So, again, I called them this past Monday to find out what the deal was. Mostly because I had accidentally smudged off my order number and couldn't look it up online myself.
I was shuffled around to a few different departments before they just finally put me through to the warranty/ordering/whatever the hell department. We went through the motions of him asking my name, email, phone number and address. After I told him my address and spelled it out for him, he gave me the most tell-tale sign that they had in fact taken down my address incorrectly. There was a pause and then "Oh...well, uh, that's correct. Let me put you on hold so I can put a new order through. We have been back-logged...."
Yeah, no, don't tell me, for I already know that you got my address wrong even though I told the first person I talked to A WEEK AGO the address five times and even spelled every word out for him each time.
Maybe this weekend Rueben (the transsexual laptop from transylvania) will be back online.
Also, if you caught my reference in the last sentence, I will love you forever.
